After 2 wks I sincerely hope I don’t have to downgrade this rating as this item has been a lifechanger for actually getting sleep and a bit of free range being a full-time caregiver for a child or anyone who has cognitive disability or wanders (esp at night) combined with two mattress and chair alarms by Lunderg.. I have 2 of these baby cams, one for bedroom and one for daytime room. I tried using high rated by consumer reports wifi camera but it repeatedly wouldn’t pair with my router (others had this issue) and I did not want to buy their hub for 1 or 2 indoor cameras. I also appreciate thes cams use frequency hopping tech (thank you, movie star inventor Heddy Lamar) so data does not get uploaded to the internet. As I am mostly here all the time, I’m not checking in from some other place. I would definitely buy wifi cam again if that were the situation. These have good picture with the black & white night time and color daytime or with lights on. You can pan around the room to follow the person or child to make sure they aren’t doing anything too dangerous so that you can stay in bed if the Lunderg bed alarm wakes you that they have gotten out of bed or chair. You can go to bathroom, take shower or phone call without worry and if seat or bed alarm pager goes off, you can look at the camera to see if they are doing anything dangerous and come running or even speak through the camera and say please go sit down again if you think that won’t startle them because it depends on the mental capacity of the person or child you are trying to keep safe. It also has a eco mode sound alert so that the screen will go dark unless it hears sound from the child/person/baby crying or calling. It is working for us in a 2 story house with everyone who is a caregiver here so there is never a time that the individual is greatly at risk. Before I had these 2 products I found individual wandering, trying to go outside, on floor unable to get up etc. I don’t think this device should be called Hello, baby, I think it should be called, Hello Sanity!! The cameras need to be charged every day to get full bars. They have a little stand so that you can set it next to where you sleep or where you are sitting. The antenna makes 1000 feet expected range more likely bt any large amt glass or concrete could change the range. I am in a house that has both and so far I am satisfied and grateful so if these keep working and the recharge batts don’t go out I will be satisfied.
